I am a Business Development professional looking to network and Facilitate Business.

Born and raised in the Textile Capital of West India -- Ahmedabad, Gujarat -- I moved to the USA when I was 15. Since earning my Bachelors, I have been involved in the Packaging Industry as a BD Professional.

I am looking to build contacts with people in every field -- fields that are complementary to my industry for synergy and fields (Financial Services, HR, Lead Generation, inside sales, IT, hardware, Consulting, Distribution; Logistics, 3PL, Transportation) where I need contacts for guidance as well as suppliers.
I am interested in expanding my knowledge in the SCM fields.

People ask me, what's with this Business Development title? Aren't you just a glorified Sales Guy? To them, I tell them Yes, I am one, but only if:

Sales Guys are to Find and Qualify their own leads,
Sales Guys are to Utilize independent judgment in Quoting opportunities,
Sales Guys are to Resurrect Lost Accounts,
Sales Guys are to Close Dead or Cold leads,
Sales Guys are to Penetrate New Markets for Existing Product lines,
Sales Guys are to Source Suppliers as Client requirements,
Sales Guys are to Work Directly with Existing & Future Suppliers,
Sales Guys are to Sell Solutions per Requirements vs. Products on Price,
Sales Guys are to Behave as Off-site Client Ambassadors,
Sales Guys are to Provide Single Point of Contact for all Business Functions,
Sales Guys are to Ultimately responsible for P&L for all of its Accounts regardless of Spend.

If all of these conditions are met, yes, I am a Proud Glorified Sales Guy.
